From 2018 to 2020, the Russian fruit and vegetable juice market contracted, with volume falling from 569 million liters to 494 million liters. This decline was driven by changing consumer preferences away from reconstituted juices, which were no longer perceived as healthy, and further exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which disrupted production and consumption.

The market rebounded in 2021, reaching 590.5 million liters, supported by the launch of new large production facilities in regions like Rostov. However, in 2022, volume dropped again to 550.9 million liters due to sanctions and associated supply chain problems for concentrates and packaging, compounded by reduced marketing activity from major international players like PepsiCo and Coca-Cola.

A strong recovery followed from 2023 to 2024, with market volume jumping to 744.1 million liters. This growth was fueled by significant investments in domestic production, including new automated plants, and a sustained consumer shift towards natural and functional juices. By 2025, production continued to rise to 724.8 million liters, indicating ongoing expansion of the industry.

Following two years of decline, Russia's production of fruit and vegetable juices rebounded in 2021, reaching 491.9 million liters. This marked a significant 24.7% increase compared to 2020. Over the entire 2018-2021 period, production grew by 12.8%, averaging an annual growth rate of 4.1%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2020 at 394.6 million liters, while the sharpest decline occurred in 2019 with a 9.3% drop.

Russia's exports of fruit and vegetable juices have grown for three consecutive years. In 2021, exports totaled 86.4 million liters, representing an 11.6% increase from 2020. From 2018 to 2021, exports surged by 42.5%, translating to an average annual growth rate of 12.5%.

During the 2018-2021 period, Kazakhstan, Belarus, and Ukraine were the primary destinations for Russia's fruit and vegetable juice exports in volume terms. Kazakhstan accounted for 38.7% of exports, Belarus for 34.5%, and Ukraine for 7.7%. Together, these three countries represented 80.9% of Russia's total export flows.

Over the 2018-2021 period, export value grew by 35.2%, with an average annual growth rate of 10.6%. The most significant decline occurred in 2020, when exports fell by 0.7%.
