Earlier Report Observations

The Russian apple juice market volume remained stable at around 267 million liters in 2018 and 2019. This stability occurred amid a strengthening of local producers and increased processing of domestic apples, which reduced reliance on imported concentrate. However, high availability of fresh apples continued to dampen demand for juice, while growing popularity of natural beverages provided some support.

In 2020, pandemic-related disruptions in the supply of concentrates and packaging materials negatively impacted the market, leading to a decline in volume to 247 million liters. The market saw a slight recovery in 2021. A further drop to 227 million liters followed in 2022, driven by ongoing procurement and delivery issues for raw materials and packaging, compounded by international sanctions which together reduced sales.

A sharp rebound to 265 million liters occurred in 2023, fueled by significant investments in new, automated production plants and robust consumer demand for organic and functional apple juice variants. In 2024, the market volume corrected to 242 million liters amidst a broader economic instability.
