Earlier Report Observations

The market volume for fruit and vegetable juices in Central Asia declined from 85.3 million liters in 2018 to 77.6 million liters in 2019. This decrease occurred alongside the initial expansion of juice production in Kyrgyzstan, driven by the development of its raw material base and state support for the agro-industrial complex, which laid the groundwork for future growth.

Market volume then surged to 104.5 million liters in 2020 and peaked at 130.6 million liters in 2021. This growth was partly fueled by a sharp drop in juice production in Russia, which disrupted regional supply chains and increased import demand within Central Asia. Concurrently, production in Kazakhstan continued to rise, supporting overall regional output.

From 2022 onward, the market volume contracted to 117.6 million liters and further to 97.8 million liters in 2023. This decline was primarily due to a substantial increase in regional exports, which reached 63.4 million liters in 2023, outpacing the growth in domestic production and imports. The strengthening of Kazakh producers, who captured 60% of the domestic market, and rising export volumes from Kyrgyzstan redirected supply away from local consumption. Meanwhile, increased imports and consumption within Kazakhstan alone were insufficient to offset the overall export surge.
