The market volume for fruit and vegetable juices in Lebanon fluctuated significantly from 2018 to 2023. It rose modestly to 41.6 million liters in 2019 before dropping sharply to 34.9 million liters in 2020. This decline was driven by heavy losses in the agricultural sector due to a lack of deep reforms, which affected the supply of fruits and vegetables for juice production.

After stabilizing near 34.6 million liters in 2021, the market recovered to 38.2 million liters in 2022 and reached 40.2 million liters in 2023. The growth in 2023 coincided with a food crisis that exposed systemic flaws but also prompted calls for reforming the food system and improving fruit and vegetable output.

In 2024, the launch of a monthly food price index revealed a 20% increase in fresh fruit and vegetable prices compared to early 2023, raising juice production costs. At the same time, entrepreneurs increasingly invested in wholesale food trade, potentially altering distribution networks for juices.

In 2020, Lebanon produced 39 009 thousand liters of fruit and vegetable juices, marking a moderate decline of 7.6% compared to the previous year. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production increased by 2.3% overall, which translates to an annualized growth rate of 0.8%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 38 080 thousand liters, while the peak occurred in 2019 with 42 226 thousand liters. The most significant year-on-year increase was in 2019, when production surged by 10.9%.

Lebanon's exports of fruit and vegetable juices have grown for the third year in a row. In 2020, the country exported 6 184 thousand liters, showing a steep gain of 29.8% compared to 2019. Over the four-year span from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 408.3%, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 71.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, Lebanon's fruit and vegetable juice exports reached a diverse range of buyers. Germany accounted for 16.1% of exports in volume, Qatar for 7.4%, and the United States for 7.0%. Together, these three countries contributed 30.5% of total exports, while numerous other nations held smaller but still notable shares, reflecting a broad market distribution.

Lebanon's fruit and vegetable juice exports have risen for the third consecutive year. In 2020, export value reached 8 167 thousand US dollars, representing an abrupt rise of 38.7% from 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 264.3% in value, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 53.9%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Germany, the United States, and Qatar were among the largest buyers of Lebanese fruit and vegetable juices in value terms, with shares of 12.0%, 10.4%, and 7.1%, respectively. However, even combined, they represented just 29.4% of total export value, indicating a broadly diversified partner base with many other countries contributing to the trade.

The highest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 4 820 thousand liters, and the largest year-on-year increase occurred in 2018, with a rise of 7.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, the main sources for Lebanon's fruit and vegetable juice imports in volume were the Philippines, the Netherlands, and Brazil, with shares of 25.3%, 18.3%, and 13.9%, respectively. Together, these three countries formed a key cluster, accounting for 57.5% of total import flows.
