Earlier Report Observations
From 2018 to 2021, the market for homogenised jams, jellies, marmalades, purées and pastes in Central Asia showed strong growth, with volume expanding from 4 191 t to 10 671 t. This surge was driven by a steep rise in imports, which increased from 3 211 t to 9 929 t over the same period, more than compensating for a concurrent decline in domestic production.
After peaking in 2021, the market volume contracted to 8 855 t in 2022 before partially recovering to 9 587 t in 2023. Throughout the entire period, imports remained the dominant supply source, while local production continued to trend downward, falling from 1 009 t in 2018 to 689 t in 2023.
Overall, the Central Asian market for these products more than doubled in size between 2018 and 2023, indicating a significant and sustained increase in consumption, largely met by imported goods.
