The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 112.9 K t, with the largest decline of 1.4% also occurring that year.

After two years of growth, Northern Africa's shelled almond production value declined. In 2020, the output was valued at 722.2 M $ US, representing a 2.2% decrease year-over-year. Over the 2017-2020 period, however, production value increased by 14.8%, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.7%. The highest value was reached in 2019 at 738.4 M $ US, when the largest increase of 12.7% was recorded.

In 2020, the region exported 640 t of shelled almonds, showing a robust 15.8% increase compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, exports decreased by 13.4%, averaging a 4.7% annual decline. The lowest export volume was in 2018 at 512 t, which also saw the largest drop of 30.8%.

Between 2017 and 2020, Germany, France, and the Netherlands were the main destinations for shelled almond exports from Northern Africa, together accounting for 72.9% of total exports in kind. Germany led with 37.8%, followed by France at 17.6%, and the Netherlands at 17.5%.
