After the peak, the market contracted by 32% in 2023 to 20.5 thousand metric tons, corresponding to a drop in imports to 20.6 thousand metric tons. The volatility in import volumes underscores the market's dependence on international trade, with local production playing a negligible role in supply throughout the period.
