Domestic production followed a similar downward trajectory, falling to 24,172 tonnes in 2023, while import levels varied but remained a relatively small component of total supply.

Overall, the market volume in 2023 was approximately 12.6% lower than in 2018, marking a significant reversal from the earlier growth phase and indicating a reduction in both production and consumption in recent years.

After two years of growth, Azerbaijan's production of pumpkins, squash, and gourds declined. In 2021, the country produced 29 534 tonnes, marking an 8.9% decrease from the previous year.
