To mitigate confinement constraints, the Ministry of Agriculture and the MPE association established a support market in Nanisana, helping to sustain production volume. Malagasy authorities issued warnings against unjustified meat price hikes in 2022 to regulate the market, while beef prices reached 24 000 ariary per kilogram in Antananarivo in 2023, affecting relative demand for poultry. Throughout the period, ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries in collaboration with industry professionals aimed to stabilize the poultry value chain and encourage local consumption.
