This focus directly encouraged duck farming and processing, with production edging up further to 12.7 thousand tons in 2023.

Recent developments include the SIM labeling initiative for canned duck and meat products under the Bongou brand, strengthening quality and traceability, alongside the wider availability of fresh and frozen duck meat in major supermarkets, which has diversified consumer access and supported market activity.
