The Slovak pear market volume exhibited considerable volatility from 2018 to 2023, beginning at 5 106 t. The arrival of new varieties, particularly the frost and disease-resistant Talgarskaya Krasavitsa, diversified local production capabilities and addressed evolving consumer preferences for different textures and flavors. Following a contraction to 4 312 t in 2019, the market recovered strongly to 5 960 t in 2020.

Market expansion resumed in 2022, reaching 5 935 t, supported by the cultivation of the high-yielding Zaosu Red Striped Pear from China. This variety's excellent storage characteristics improved supply chain logistics for domestic growers. The upward trend culminated in a market volume of 6 285 t in 2023, the highest level observed in the period, indicating robust underlying demand.

From 2017 to 2020, Hungary and Czechia were the primary markets for Slovakia's pear exports in volume terms, together accounting for 85.1% of total flows. Other destinations had relatively smaller shares during this period.
