Market volume contracted in 2022 due to a sharp, approximately 20% drop in production in the key Alto Valle region, linked directly to adverse weather conditions that impacted flowering and fruit development. However, firm international demand, particularly from Brazil, helped maintain price levels and supported export recovery, setting the stage for a rebound.

In 2023, the market reached its highest volume, exceeding 340,000 tons, as production rebounded strongly. This recovery was fueled by record export volumes driven by sustained external demand and improved fruit quality from the Río Negro and Neuquén valleys, which helped consolidate traditional markets and diversify destinations.
