The Turkish particle board market volume increased from 3.2 million m³ in 2018 to 3.6 million m³ in 2020. This expansion was supported by the furniture industry's shift toward particle board and MDF due to their cost efficiency compared to solid wood. New product segments such as melamine-coated boards gained popularity, catering to decorative applications. During the COVID-19 pandemic, heightened demand for home renovation projects further propelled consumption, offsetting partial supply chain disruptions.

In 2021, the market stabilized at 3.5 million m³ as stricter environmental regulations limiting formaldehyde emissions came into effect, leading producers to adopt low-formaldehyde adhesives. Simultaneously, domestic manufacturer Kastamonu Entegre commissioned new production facilities. The following year, soaring energy and raw material costs raised manufacturing expenses, contributing to a contraction in volume to 3.2 million m³.

A robust recovery followed in 2023, with market volume returning to 3.6 million m³, reflecting renewed demand from key downstream sectors like furniture and interior construction.

Turkey's particle board of wood production grew for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 4,400 K m³, marking a 4.8% increase from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production rose by 6%, averaging an annual growth rate of 2.0%. The lowest production level was in 2018 at 4,000 K m³, which saw the largest decline of 3.6%. In contrast, 2019 recorded the highest increase at 5.0%.

Turkey's particle board of wood production value declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, output was valued at 800.0 M $ US, remaining largely stable compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, production value increased by 3.8%, with a compound annual growth rate of 1.3%. The peak value occurred in 2018 at 820.1 M $ US, which also saw the largest increase of 6.4%. The most significant drop was in 2019 at 2.4%.

Following two years of growth, Turkey's exported volumes of particle board of wood decreased. In 2020, exports stood at 858.8 K m³, down 1.0% from 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports increased by 19.6%, averaging an annual growth rate of 6.1%. The highest export volume was in 2019 at 867.2 K m³, while the largest increase occurred in 2018 at 19.2%.

Turkey's exported value of particle board of wood fell for the second consecutive year. In 2020, export value was recorded at 156.1 M $ US, a 5.5% decrease year-over-year. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports increased by 17.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 5.4%. The maximum value was in 2018 at 175.4 M $ US, which also saw the largest increase of 31.6%. The most significant decline was in 2019 at 5.8%.

Turkey's imported volumes of particle board of wood declined for the third year in a row. In 2020, imports totaled 27.1 K m³, a sharp 46.7% drop from the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, imports decreased by 66.8%, with a compound annual decline rate of 30.7%.
