Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 4.3%, with an average annual growth rate of 1.4%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 5 260 K m³, which saw the largest decline of 7.1% that year.

In 2020, Turkey's fibreboard output was valued at 1 938 M $ US, showing a substantial 15.2% increase year-over-year. However, between 2017 and 2020, production value decreased by 8.6%, equivalent to an average annual decline of 2.9%. Between 2017 and 2020, Turkey's fibreboard exports in kind were distributed across multiple countries without a single dominant partner. Iraq accounted for 17.1% of exports, Iran for 16.4%, and Tunisia for 10.1%, with these three countries together representing 43.6% of total export flows.

Turkey's fibreboard export value increased for the third consecutive year in 2020, reaching 489.0 M $ US, a 29.7% rise compared to the previous year. From 2017 to 2020, export value grew by 41.4%, with an average annual growth rate of 12.2%.

During 2017-2020, Iran was the largest buyer of Turkish fibreboard in value terms with 17.3% of exports, followed by Iraq at 14.9% and Tunisia at 7.0%. Together, these three countries accounted for 39.2% of total export value, while the remaining 60.8% was distributed among numerous other trading partners.
