In monetary terms, market value rose from $257.9 million to $331.4 million over the same period, despite a dip to $251.6 million in 2020 when industry discussions focused on moderating wine prices and potential tax relief for imported wines.

Market volume contracted to 77.6 million liters in 2022 as rising grape prices and production costs pressured the industry, even with state fuel subsidies. Recovery followed in 2023, with volume reaching 85.3 million liters and value climbing to $365.1 million, supported by continued technological innovations in winemaking and consumer demand for affordable quality wines.

Grape wine production in Turkey grew for the third consecutive year. In 2020, Turkey produced 86.5 million liters of grape wine, marking a 2.1% increase from the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production rose by 31.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 9.4%.

Following two years of growth, Turkey's grape wine production value declined. In 2020, the output of grape wine was valued at 246.2 million US dollars, reflecting a significant drop of 14.5% compared to the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, production value increased by 3.6%, equivalent to an annualized rate of 1.2%. The peak value was recorded in 2019 at 288.1 million US dollars, with the largest increase occurring that same year at 14.1%.

After two years of growth, Turkey's grape wine exports declined. In 2020, Turkey exported 2 406 thousand liters of grape wine, showing a sharp drop of 44.5% from the previous year. The highest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 4 335 thousand liters, while the largest increase occurred in 2018 at 64.9%.
