After two years of decline, South-eastern Asia's grape wine exports rebounded. In 2020, exports reached 30 657 K l, representing a 24.3% year-over-year increase. However, between 2017 and 2020, exports fell by 47.8%, averaging an annual decline of 19.5%. The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 24 667 K l, which also experienced the largest drop of 43.2%.

Grape wine exports from South-eastern Asia declined for the second consecutive year. In 2020, exports amounted to 443.1 M $ US, showing a sharp decrease of 19.0% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports fell by 20.3%, with a compound annual growth rate of -7.3%. The peak value was recorded in 2018 at 568.0 M $ US, which also saw the largest increase of 2.2%.

Grape wine imports into South-eastern Asia declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, imports totaled 63 291 K l, a decrease of 32.4% year-over-year. From 2017 to 2020, imports dropped by 31.2%, with a compound annual growth rate of -11.7%. The highest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 94 028 K l, which also experienced the largest increase of 2.2%.

From 2017 to 2020, France was the top source for grape wine imports into South-eastern Asia in volume terms, with a 25.3% share, followed by Australia at 20.1% and Chile at 10.6%. These three countries together accounted for 55.9% of total import flows.
