Earlier Report Observations

The grape wine market in ASEAN saw substantial volatility in volume between 2018 and 2023. Starting at 64.3 million liters in 2018, consumption surged by over 25% to reach 80.7 million liters in 2019. However, this expansion was abruptly reversed in 2020, when the market size contracted sharply to 35.0 million liters, representing a decline of more than 56% from the previous year.

Following the 2020 low, the market began a recovery phase, albeit with continued fluctuations. Volume edged up to 37.0 million liters in 2021, then staged a strong rebound to 60.6 million liters in 2022—a jump of nearly 64%. This recovery lost momentum in 2023, as the market size receded to 52.8 million liters.
