Earlier Report Observations

The grape wine market in Central America experienced notable shifts in volume between 2018 and 2023. Starting at 135.0 million liters in 2018, the market contracted over the next two years, falling to 116.0 million liters by 2020. This downward trend then reversed decisively, with the market expanding by more than 55 million liters over the following two years to reach a peak of 171.0 million liters in 2022.

The market's recovery was led by a sharp increase in imports, which rose from 79.2 million liters in 2020 to 123.8 million liters in 2022. Regional production also grew during this period, from 39.5 million liters to 47.6 million liters. After the 2022 peak, the market saw a modest correction in 2023, declining to 166.4 million liters as import volumes slightly retreated.
