Fresh or chilled duck meat market in Belarus

From 2018 to 2021, the market volume for fresh or chilled duck meat in Belarus contracted from 2 635 t to 1 411 t. This decline was primarily driven by a rapid expansion of exports, which rose from 904 t in 2018 to 2 120 t in 2021. The growth in exports was supported by active international trade in poultry meat and an expansion of shipment geography, including to EAEU countries and Russia.

Beginning in 2022, the market volume started to recover, reaching 1 783 t by 2023. This rebound was linked to a stabilization of export shipments and state support for the meat industry, including investments and measures to stimulate domestic consumption. The introduction of new packaging and marking technologies also contributed to improved product quality and enhanced its appeal for local consumers.

Throughout the period, domestic demand for meat products remained robust, with per capita meat consumption on the rise. However, the industry continued to face structural challenges such as a shortage of skilled personnel and logistical complexities, which moderated the pace of production growth.
