The following year saw a slight decline to 214.5 thousand tonnes. However, in 2020, the market grew to 225.3 thousand tonnes as the COVID-19 pandemic boosted demand for vegetable oils in the food industry, and rising wholesale prices encouraged producers to increase output.

A sharp expansion occurred in 2021, with market volume jumping to 292.6 thousand tonnes. This surge was driven by continued government support for production and exports, along with the emergence of new product segments like vegetable oil-based sprays. The trend reversed in 2022, when the market contracted to 179.5 thousand tonnes amid shifting trade and production conditions.

The market partially recovered in 2023, reaching 186.3 thousand tonnes. This rebound was facilitated by the launch of new large-scale production facilities in Russia, such as plants in Rostov and Orenburg regions, which contributed to overall growth in vegetable oil manufacturing.
