From 2018 to 2023, the wheat bran market in Ghana showed considerable volatility. Starting at 106.7 thousand tons in 2018, it dropped to 83.0 thousand tons in 2019, then recovered to peak at 113.1 thousand tons in 2021.

The market then declined to 107.6 thousand tons in 2022 and fell sharply to 68.2 thousand tons in 2023. This drop in 2023 coincided with a decrease in domestic production to 91.7 thousand tons, while exports remained significant at 25.9 thousand tons and imports were modest at 2.5 thousand tons.

Throughout the period, exports played a key role, reaching 47.3 thousand tons in 2019, which affected domestic availability. Imports were minimal until 2021 when they rose to 7.8 thousand tons, but later decreased.
