The Egyptian turkey meat and offal market showed significant fluctuations in volume between 2018 and 2023. This growth was abruptly reversed in 2022, with the market shrinking to 18 875 т, before recovering to 23 843 т in 2023.

The market's peak in 2021 was supported by strong seasonal demand during the Christmas period, a time when turkey consumption is a tradition for many Egyptians. A concurrent shift in retail, with turkey increasingly sold in parts rather than as whole birds, made the product more accessible and likely stimulated overall consumption.

The sharp contraction in 2022 was primarily driven by soaring production costs. High prices for specialized feed and turkey chicks significantly increased rearing expenses, forcing producers to cut output. This reduction in supply directly led to the drop in market volume that year, before a partial recovery took hold in 2023.

The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 19 000 tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 6.8%.
