Earlier Report Observations

The tomato juice market in CIS expanded from 47.1 million liters in 2018 to 53.7 million liters in 2020. This growth was primarily driven by increasing consumer preference for vegetable juices as part of a broader health and wellness trend, which was further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic as consumers sought out nutritious and immune-boosting products.

After reaching its peak, the market volume declined to 40.3 million liters in 2022, reflecting a contraction in domestic production and trade flows. The period also saw trade disruptions due to sanctions that reduced supplies of tomato paste and puree from the EU, prompting a shift toward domestic sourcing. By 2023, the market recovered to 43.1 million liters, supported by significant investments in new processing facilities, including the launch of modern plants such as 'Sady Prudonya' and a facility in Rostov Oblast, which increased domestic production capacity.
