In value terms, the market rose from $53.6 million to $97.6 million over this period, driven by both higher volumes and increased prices.

Market volume declined to 80.3 thousand tonnes in 2022, while value softened to $84.5 million. That same year, Jordan implemented its National Food Security Strategy 2021-2030 and a sustainable agriculture plan, which introduced measures to enhance agricultural production, improve marketing systems, and strengthen food security frameworks for fresh produce. By 2023, the market rebounded to 87.2 thousand tonnes with a value of $108.6 million, reflecting renewed demand.

After a two-year decline, pumpkin, squash, and gourd production in Jordan rebounded. In 2020, Jordan produced 85 514 tonnes of these crops, marking a sharp increase of 61.2% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 18.1%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 5.7%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 53 043 tonnes, while the largest decline occurred in 2018 with a drop of 21.0%.

Jordan's pumpkin, squash, and gourd production increased for the second year in a row. In 2020, the output was valued at 91 542 thousand US dollars, showing a steep rise of 52.7% year-over-year. The minimum value was recorded in 2018 at 53 617 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 31.8%.
