Mexico's production of pumpkins, squash, and gourds declined for the second year in a row in 2021, reaching 738 000 tonnes. This represented a 2.5% decrease compared to 2020. Over the four-year period from 2018 to 2021, production fell by 4.9%, which translates to an average annual decline of 1.7%. The highest production level was recorded in 2019 at 821 300 tonnes, marking a 5.8% increase from the previous year. The sharpest drop occurred in 2020, with a 7.9% decrease.
