Jordan's eggplant production rebounded after a two-year decline. In 2020, the country produced 57 356 tons of eggplants, marking a 3.1% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 12.2%, with a compound annual growth rate of -4.2%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 55 630 tons, which also saw the steepest annual decline of 9.2%.

Jordan's eggplant export volume declined for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country exported 1 025 tons of eggplants, representing a sharp 75.5% drop compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports decreased by 81.9%, equating to an annualized decline rate of 43.4%.

From 2017 to 2020, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq consistently held the top positions in Jordan's eggplant export structure by volume. Kuwait accounted for 51.6% of exports, Bahrain for 13.1%, and Iraq for 11.7%, with these three markets together representing 76.4% of total export flows.
