The market for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in Guinea experienced a moderate decline from 770 thousand tons in 2018 to 739 thousand tons in 2019, a period during which the foundations for future expansion were laid. The launch of the AgriFARM project, funded by IFAD, aimed to sustainably increase incomes for 78,000 family farms and improve their access to local and regional markets. Concurrently, Guinea's post-1984 agricultural policy, focused on food security and export competitiveness, provided support for expanding peanut production and artisanal processing.

From 2020 to 2022, the market volume grew strongly, rising from 802 thousand tons to 1,028 thousand tons. This expansion was primarily driven by the continued implementation of the AgriFARM project, which received complementary financing in 2019 and underwent a mid-term review in 2022 to adjust support for family farms. Furthermore, protocols signed between the government and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Handicrafts of Guinea (CCIAG) in 2022 aimed to guarantee market supply and price stability for essential goods, indirectly boosting agricultural market activity and confidence.

In 2023, production saw a slight correction, decreasing to 1,002 thousand tons. During this year, the government maintained tax and customs exemptions to stabilize consumer prices and lighten the household basket, a measure that supported consumption levels. Active preparations for the 2024-2025 agricultural season also began, involving the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the National Chamber of Agriculture, signaling ongoing institutional support for the sector.

Over the 2017-2020 period, production grew by 15.2%, with an average annual growth rate of 4.8%. The most significant decline occurred in 2019, at 4.1%, while the largest increase was recorded in 2018, reaching 10.7%.
