The market volume for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in Cambodia showed considerable variability from 2018 to 2023. It declined to 14.6 thousand tons in 2019, then recovered strongly to exceed 20 thousand tons in both 2020 and 2021. This was followed by a sharp contraction to 12.6 thousand tons in 2022 and a further drop to 11.8 thousand tons in 2023.

Regulatory developments in 2023 introduced new frameworks for the sector. Cambodia enacted a food safety law in June, establishing standards for food quality and safety that could influence groundnut production and marketing.
