Earlier Report Observations

From 2018 to 2023, the market volume of not in shell eggs and egg yolks in CIS countries fluctuated, peaking at 6 127 t in 2022 after growing from 4 452 t in 2018. Increased production, supported by state investments and modernization of facilities, contributed to higher supply, especially in 2019 and 2022. Simultaneously, changes in trade dynamics, such as reduced imports and fluctuating exports, influenced the overall market size.

In 2019, stabilized per capita egg consumption and growth in egg product production led to significant market expansion. However, in 2020-2021, the market volume contracted despite growing interest in dried egg yolk and an increased share of local producers. A turnaround came in 2022 when state support and legislative changes aimed at modernization and biosecurity stimulated production growth, while imports dropped sharply and exports remained minimal, allowing the market to reach a record level.

By 2023, continued demand for dried egg yolk, especially functional types for the confectionery industry and sports nutrition, supported production, but further import decline and moderate export growth led to a slight market contraction to 5 866 t. Investment projects and state policy, including extended preferential loans, laid the groundwork for processing development, reflected in sustained production and shifted trade flows by 2024.
