The Indian market for not in shell eggs and egg yolks showed strong growth between 2018 and 2023. Production volume rose from 27 615 tonnes to 41 255 tonnes, while the domestic market size expanded from 18 460 tonnes to 29 859 tonnes. In value terms, the market more than doubled from 86.3 million USD to 166.1 million USD, reflecting significant overall expansion.

Market growth was consistent despite notable fluctuations in export volumes. Exports fell from 9 219 tonnes in 2018 to a low of 6 978 tonnes in 2021 before surging to over 11 000 tonnes in 2022 and 2023. This export surge coincided with a slight dip in the physical market volume in 2022, yet the market's monetary value continued to increase steadily every year.

The period was characterized by robust domestic production capacity, which comfortably supplied both the growing home market and international demand. Imports remained negligible throughout, indicating a self-sufficient industry driven by local output.

The highest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 9 219 tonnes, which also saw the largest increase of 17.8%.

An analysis of export volumes from 2017 to 2020 shows a wide distribution across many markets. Russia, Indonesia, and Vietnam accounted for 14.6%, 14.6%, and 11.1% of exports, respectively, totaling 40.3% of the flows. The remaining 59.7% went to various other partners.
