Following a two-year decline, Mexico's production of horse, donkey, and mule meat increased in 2020. That year, output reached 72 127 tonnes, remaining broadly stable compared to the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production decreased by 3.8%, with a compound annual growth rate of 1.3%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2019 at 71 772 tonnes, while the largest annual decline occurred in 2018 at 4.1%.
