However, market volume fell to 9 607 tons in 2019. A recovery followed in 2020, driven by the launch of new value-added products such as cashew-based spreads and beverages, alongside increasing health awareness among consumers, which lifted volume to 9 900 tons.

In 2021, the market's value rose to 24.8 million US dollars despite a slight dip in physical volume to 9 208 tons, as retail sales of sweet spreads surged by over 10% and consumers sought products with added nutritional benefits. The following year saw broad growth, with volume reaching 10 269 tons and value climbing to 26.0 million US dollars, partly aided by stricter labeling and packaging requirements that aligned with international quality standards and boosted consumer confidence.

By 2023, the market stabilized at 10 185 tons, though its value eased to 22.0 million US dollars. During this phase, new players entered the segment and distribution regulations evolved. The industry has also seen capital investments in production facilities, the introduction of jams with 80% fruit content, and regulatory updates on GST rates, all shaping the landscape for homogenised fruit-based products.
