Earlier Report Observations

The grape market in Uzbekistan showed significant fluctuations between 2018 and 2023. Market volume grew from 1.38 million tons in 2018 to 1.61 million tons in 2021, an increase of 16%. This upward trend was interrupted in 2022 when the market contracted to 1.44 million tons, before recovering to 1.54 million tons in 2023.

Production volumes steadily increased from 1.59 million tons in 2018 to 1.76 million tons in 2022, then slightly declined to 1.73 million tons in 2023. Export dynamics played a key role in market size movements: a sharp drop in exports to 88 000 tons in 2021 contributed to the peak in domestic market volume, while a surge in exports to 319 000 tons in 2022 reduced the amount available for local consumption.
