Earlier Report Observations

Between 2018 and 2019, Iran's fruit and vegetable juice market expanded from 321.3 million liters to 338.6 million liters. This growth was supported by an increase in the number of juice and concentrate production facilities, which boosted domestic output. Exports also grew as Iranian juice reached more than 30 countries. However, the market faced ongoing challenges, including widespread smuggling of juice products and persistent difficulties in sourcing raw fruit due to intermediary markups, which pressured producer margins.

Market volume dipped to 321.8 million liters in 2020, as international sanctions restricted access to essential raw materials and processing equipment, raising production costs. A recovery followed in 2021, with volume reaching 341.7 million liters. This rebound coincided with the implementation of new packaging and labeling regulations designed to increase transparency for consumers. The period also saw the introduction of advanced juicing appliances, which intensified competition in related equipment markets.

In 2022, the market contracted again to 321.6 million liters. A sharp increase in fruit and vegetable prices, driven by intermediary speculation and a lack of product branding, significantly raised production costs. The following year, the market rebounded strongly, with volume climbing to 364.0 million liters in 2023.
