Greater awareness of its vitamin C content and antioxidant properties strengthened this trend. The introduction of new product variants, such as Louis Dreyfus Co. BV's launch of a 30% reduced-sugar, triple-fiber orange juice in November 2022, catered to the shift towards healthier options. Simultaneously, global supply constraints, including a historic drought in Brazil and the spread of citrus greening disease, tightened worldwide availability and elevated prices, influencing the local market environment.

Orange juice production in Lebanon increased for two consecutive years before declining. In 2019, production reached its peak at 7 159 thousand liters, marking a significant 32.0% increase from the previous year. However, in 2020, production fell to 6 047 thousand liters, representing a substantial 15.5% decrease compared to 2019. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 14.7%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 4.7%.

After rising for two years, Lebanon's orange juice export volumes experienced a decline. In 2019, exports peaked at 979 thousand liters, with a notable 48.4% increase from the previous year. In 2020, exports dropped slightly to 961 thousand liters, down 1.7% from 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 86.7%, averaging an annual growth rate of 23.1%.

From 2017 to 2020, Lebanon's orange juice exports in volume terms were highly diversified. The top three destinations—Qatar (14.2% of exports), Liberia (9.4%), and Sierra Leone (6.4%)—collectively accounted for just 30.0% of total exports, with no single country holding a dominant position.

Lebanon's orange juice exports in value terms showed strong growth. In 2018, exports increased by 29.0%, but in 2019, they declined by 10.2%. By 2020, exports rebounded to 1 351 thousand US dollars, up 19.5% from the previous year. Overall, from 2017 to 2020, exports grew by 38.4%, with an average annual increase of 11.4%.
