High parafiscal levies on the finished product further eroded competitiveness. The market faced a severe drop in 2022, with production plunging to 26.7 thousand tonnes and market volume falling to 31.3 thousand tonnes, exacerbated by global and regional factors including pandemic-related supply chain disruptions and shifts in consumer habits within the food industry.

By 2023, production stabilized at 26.7 thousand tonnes, while the total market volume recovered moderately to 33.7 thousand tonnes, indicating the sector's adjustment to the new economic and logistical landscape. Evolving consumer preferences for quality and packaging continued to influence market dynamics.
