Earlier Report Observations

The fibreboard market in Bangladesh contracted sharply from 46 278 m³ in 2018 to 13 263 m³ in 2023. This reduction was almost entirely due to falling imports, which dropped from 41 178 m³ to 8 181 m³ over the same period, while domestic production held steady at 5 100 m³ each year.

Imports fell steadily each year, with the most significant drop occurring in 2023 when the market volume shrank by 44%. Exports remained minimal throughout the period, never exceeding 31 m³ until 2024.

In 2024, imports declined further to 7 455 m³ and exports increased to 805 m³. Domestic production was reported at 5 100 m³ annually from 2018 to 2023.
