The decaffeinated or roasted coffee market in North Macedonia showed mixed trends in physical volume from 2018 to 2024. Market size measured in tonnes reached a peak of 6.3 thousand t in 2021 after growing from 5.7 thousand t in 2018, but then contracted to 6.0 thousand t by 2024. In value terms, however, the market expanded steadily from 31.8 million USD to 44.1 million USD over the same period, with a temporary dip in 2020.

Domestic production volume declined from 4.4 thousand t to 3.9 thousand t, while its value increased, suggesting higher unit prices or a shift toward more premium products. Imports rose both in volume and value, becoming a larger share of the market. Exports remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations.

The highest export volume was in 2019 at 368 tonnes, and the largest annual increase was in 2018 at 21.1%.

From 2017 to 2020, Montenegro, Serbia, and Bulgaria were the top destinations for North Macedonia's exports in volume terms. Montenegro accounted for 27.7% of exports, Serbia for 21.3%, and Bulgaria for 7.4%, together making up 56.3% of total export flows.
