Earlier Report Observations
The market for chocolate and cocoa products in Ukraine remained stable at around 50 000 tonnes in 2018 and 2019. It then expanded sharply, reaching 62 813 tonnes in 2020 and 73 172 tonnes in 2021, a 46% increase over two years.
In 2022, market volume dropped by 29% to 52 024 tonnes. This decline coincided with higher cocoa product prices from major producers Ghana and Ivory Coast, alongside global supply chain disruptions, which raised production costs and reduced availability.
By 2023, the market saw a modest contraction to 50 890 tonnes, down 2.2% from the previous year, indicating a period of stabilization after the earlier volatility.
