A sharp contraction followed in 2020, with the market volume declining by roughly a third to 862 thousand tons. After this drop, the market continued to gradually shrink for two more years, falling to 818 thousand tons in 2021 and then 791 thousand tons in 2022, before posting a slight recovery to 819 thousand tons in 2023.
