In value terms, it increased from $9.8 million to $13.3 million over the same period.

The market's growth trajectory was interrupted in 2023 when volume fell by 5%. This decline was driven by a sharp depreciation of the Congolese franc, which significantly increased the cost of imported agricultural seeds. Higher seed costs constrained local grain production, reducing the availability of milling residues for the market.

In 2024, the government's agricultural plan for the season included the distribution of improved legume seeds, which could influence future crop output. A ministerial order setting packaging standards for the export of agricultural derivatives also remained in effect.
