The market for bran and cereal processing residues in Belarus began the period at 167.3 thousand tons in 2018. A decline to 155.5 thousand tons followed in 2019, a year marked by significant investment in modernizing processing lines and constructing new plants, which likely temporarily diverted resources and affected output volumes. This was reversed in 2020 as the market recovered to 165.2 thousand tons, a shift driven by the implementation of new waste disposal regulations and extended producer responsibility rules, which compelled increased recycling and processing of grain milling by-products.

Market volume continued to expand, reaching 169.8 thousand tons by 2022. This growth was supported by the emerging use of cereal residues as raw material for biofuel production, creating additional demand, and by the government's strengthened waste management policy which explicitly aimed to increase the share of recycled secondary resources. The market then stabilized, recording 170.1 thousand tons in 2023.
