From 2018 to 2023, the apricot market volume in Uzbekistan showed fluctuating dynamics. The market reached its peak in 2019 at 478.5 thousand tons, but subsequently declined in 2020 and 2021, hitting a low of 420.5 thousand tons in 2021. A recovery followed in 2022, bringing the market to 445.3 thousand tons, before another slight contraction to 431.8 thousand tons in 2023.

These shifts were closely tied to changes in production and export volumes. A sharp drop in production in 2021 to 424.7 thousand tons was the primary driver of the reduced domestic supply that year. The subsequent recovery in production in 2022 and 2023 was offset by a significant increase in exports, which reached 68.8 thousand tons in 2023, limiting the volume available on the domestic market.

From 2017 to 2020, Uzbekistan was one of the world's top apricot producers, ranking second globally by production volume.

In 2020, Uzbekistan produced 529.1 thousand tons of apricots, marking a 1.4% decrease from the previous year. Production hit its lowest point in 2018 at 493.8 thousand tons, while the peak was recorded in 2019 at 536.5 thousand tons. The most significant decline occurred in 2018, with a drop of 7.3%, whereas the largest increase was seen in 2019, rising by 8.6%.

Exports apricots from Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan's apricot exports grew for the third consecutive year in 2020, reaching 63,490 tons, a 9.4% increase year-over-year. Between 2017 and 2020, exports surged by 178.4%, translating to an average annual growth rate of 40.7%.

From 2017 to 2020, the main destinations for Uzbekistan's apricot exports by volume were Kazakhstan, accounting for 46.2% of exports, Russia with 29.6%, and Kyrgyzstan at 22.7%. Together, these three countries represented 98.5% of total export flows.

The export market for apricots from Uzbekistan showed an unstable trend during this period. Exports reached their lowest point in 2017 and peaked in 2019, with a 3.3-fold difference between these years. In 2020, the value of exported apricots amounted to 49,170 thousand US dollars, a 27.0% decrease from 2019. The highest value was recorded in 2019 at 67,325 thousand US dollars, while the largest increase occurred in 2018, jumping by 138.1%.

Throughout 2017–2020, Kazakhstan led in the value of apricot exports from Uzbekistan, contributing 41.3% of the total, followed by Kyrgyzstan at 28.3% and Russia with 27.2%. Combined, these three countries accounted for 96.8% of total export value.
