Indonesia orders affordable rice prices nationwide under retail ceiling

Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman ordered Bulog and regional governments to keep rice available across Indonesia at prices complying with the government’s highest retail price, or HET. The directive followed reports that supply and distribution problems had pushed prices in Alor as high as Rp30,000 per kilogram.

Indonesia allocates 997,200 tonnes of free rice for 33.4 million recipients

Indonesia is distributing 10 kilograms of free rice per month to 33.4 million beneficiaries from July through September 2026. Okezone reports that the government has prepared about 997,200 tonnes for the program, supported by 5.2 million tonnes of domestic rice held by Bulog.

India’s Supreme Court upholds PepsiCo’s rights over Lay’s potato variety
