A strong recovery followed in 2021, with production surging 14% to over 7 million hectoliters, fueled by rising domestic demand and enotourism, pushing the market to 712 thousand tons.

After a slight contraction to 677 thousand tons in 2022 due to a dip in output, the market rebounded to 741 thousand tons in 2023. This growth was powered by exponential demand from Brazil, which became the second-largest importer by volume, and sustained international promotion efforts targeting the US and China, which elevated export values and supported production volumes.
