Earlier Report Observations

The Lithuanian wine market volume grew from 20 тыс. т in 2018 to 32.1 тыс. т in 2021, with value rising from $66.4 млн to $112.7 млн. This expansion was driven by amendments to the alcohol control law, which encouraged consumers to bring wine from abroad, boosting imports. Concurrently, a shift in consumer tastes toward sparkling wines like cava and prosecco, alongside growing interest in premium varieties such as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, lifted market value.

After peaking in 2021, the market contracted to 24 тыс. т in 2022 before a slight recovery to 24.8 тыс. т in 2023, while value settled around $100 млн. During this period, the increased adoption of online sales and social media marketing helped sustain consumer engagement and stabilize sales volumes.
