The market for wheat and meslin flour and cereals in Ukraine experienced a general decline in physical volume between 2018 and 2023, falling from 3 905 thousand tons to 2 975 thousand tons. The most pronounced contraction occurred in 2019, with a drop of 16% to 3 284 thousand tons. After a period of stabilization in 2020, volume decreased further in 2021, followed by a temporary recovery in 2022 before another significant decline in 2023.

In monetary terms, the market value showed a different trajectory, increasing from $914 million in 2018 to a peak of $1 073 million in 2022. This growth was particularly strong in 2021, with a 17% rise to $1 048 million. However, 2023 saw a sharp reversal, as market value fell by 18% to $881 million, corresponding with the lower physical volume.
