The Estonian market for plastic tubes, pipes, and hoses started at 19.7 thousand tonnes in 2018. It grew by 21% to 23.8 thousand tonnes in 2019, driven by the diversification of applications into water supply, gas systems, ventilation, and cable protection, as well as improved fire resistance of polypropylene pipes, which made them more suitable for indoor sewage systems. However, in 2020, market volume fell by 18% to 19.4 thousand tonnes, partly due to new pressure testing requirements for drinking water pipelines that tightened market access and raised quality standards.

In 2021, physical market volume edged down to 18.7 thousand tonnes, but its value surged by 51% to 74.5 million $, reflecting a shift toward more expensive and specialized products offered by local companies, along with the growth of e-commerce platforms that made access easier for consumers. Then in 2022, volume jumped by 32% to 24.7 thousand tonnes, while value slightly decreased to 71.4 million $ as oil price fluctuations and global supply chain disruptions increased production costs, alongside sustained demand for more environmentally friendly and fire-resistant materials.

By 2023, market volume had returned to 19.3 thousand tonnes and declined further to 18.2 thousand tonnes in 2024, whereas value recovered to 69.7 million $ in 2024, indicating ongoing adjustments in demand patterns and pricing.

In 2021, output reached 78 170 thousand US dollars, marking a dramatic 45.3% year-over-year rise. The minimum value was recorded in 2019 at 52 561 thousand US dollars, which saw the largest decline of 18.1%. Over the 2018-2021 period, production grew by 21.7%, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.8%.

The largest increase occurred in 2020 at 32.6%. Between 2018 and 2021, exports grew by 64.1%, equating to an 18.0% annualized rate.
