Market volume then contracted to 120.2 thousand tons in 2023 before surging sharply to 196.6 thousand tons in 2024, largely due to a spike in imports. During these years, the enforcement of single-use plastic rules continued, shifting manufacturer responsibilities. Furthermore, major buyers increasingly prioritized total cost of ownership—considering installation, longevity, and maintenance—over initial purchase price, influencing supplier strategies and product selection.
