From 2017 to 2020, production value grew by 12.8%, translating to an average annual increase of 4.1%. The highest value was recorded in 2018 at 629.9 million US dollars. The largest decrease happened in 2019 with a 7.1% drop, whereas the biggest gain was in 2018, up by 18.0%.

Following two years of decline, treenuts exports from Western Europe rebounded in 2020. Shipments abroad totaled 235.8 thousand tons, a 23.4% jump from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 span, exports decreased by 8.8%, with an average annual decline of 3.0%. The lowest export volume was in 2019 at 191.2 thousand tons, which also saw the steepest fall of 16.8%.

From 2017 to 2020, treenuts exports from Western Europe were distributed across numerous markets. Even the top destinations—Italy, the United Kingdom, and Spain—collectively accounted for just 23.4% of total exports in volume.

The largest increase occurred in 2019, up by 5.3%.
